MOTH DAMAGE
Enid Braun

"I had two 50-year-old Hungarian goosedown quilts my grandmother had had made for my brother and me as children.  Both quilts had rotting covers, in disrepair and both were quite dirty.  Sarah and Deirdre at Winzer were patient and thoughtful about how to clean and re-cover (and add some down to one that had lost feathers) them.  Because these were heirlooms of a sort, I very much appreciated the personal attention I was given, and they came back in lovely, usable condition.  Winzer's free pick-up and delivery service made this easy, given that I am in Brooklyn.  I would call Winzer for all items requiring special care."

Moth damage and Moth eggs in clothing, rugs and garments
Moth damage. It can happen in the best of homes, and often does. That’s because moths like to feed on proteins in dark places where they are undisturbed. The protein might be natural fiber itself (like cashmeres, wools, etc.) or it could be traces of an invisible stain, perspiration, body oils or human skin cells (we do shed over two billions skin cells daily. So, it stands to reason that folks with lots of clothes, many of which they don’t wear on a regular basis are very vulnerable to moth damage.
