Shirt Dry Cleaning in NYC

We’ve been cleaning the finest men’s shirts in NYC and Long Island for over 100 years

Since collars were detachable and frock coats were being worn to the horse show. And through it all, we’ve always believed that the customer calls the shots. Far be it from us to tell you how important your shirts are to your wardrobe or how much you want to invest in their care and well-being.

We are Winzer Cleaners. We’ve been around for over a century in a business where only the best survive. Thanks to our discriminating yet loyal clientele from NYC to Long Island, we continue to thrive. That’s because we offer old-time services and services you will not find anywhere else.

When you ask us to clean your shirts, we want you to select the exact service you prefer.

  • Dry clean or wet cleaned.
  • On a hanger or folded for travel.
  • Hand pressed, or just hand touch up.

At Winzer, there’s nothing we can’t do and nothing we won’t do for our clients. Some of our clients have been with us for generations, while others found our services more recently by Googling ‘shirt dry cleaning Long Island’ or ‘shirt dry cleaning NYC.’ Still, other loyal clients have found Winzer Cleaners by word of mouth from friends and associates who cannot believe the efforts our team takes to ensure your garments are treated with the utmost care.

We’ll contact you if we suspect that there are wear areas (the precursor to threadbare) that may be too fragile to withstand anything other than hand cleaning and finishing.

So forgo that online search for ‘shirt dry cleaning New York’ or ‘shirt dry cleaning Long Island’ and contact our experts today. You may drop off your shirts or arrange for pickup and free delivery. Call today!

Popular folklore has it that the detachable collar was first invented in 1827 by Mrs. Hannah Montague of Troy, NY.  Mrs. Montague, a housewife, developed the collar as a creative solution to the difficulties she was having with her husband’s “ring-around-the-collar”.

Her husband celebrated his wife’s ingenuity around town, and soon all of Troy was following suit. Very quickly, this cottage industry grew and by 1897, twenty-five manufacturers in Troy were producing over eight million collars and cuffs a year. The simple genius of the collar led to a variety of designs and widespread use. In fact, it soon became the status symbol of the growing office-worker class (“white collar” workers).  By 1908 when Winzer opened its doors, nearly every man in America had his neck in a starched, linen detachable collar.

Today, collars are no longer detachable, and your dry cleaning tasks have become our responsibility. Just like Mrs. Montague, we gently hand launder collars and cuffs to assure your shirts always look their best. When your dress shirts require hand laundering or dry cleaning, bring, send, or have us pick up your garments for the finest shirt dry cleaning in New York. Our services are second to none, as well as our commitment to providing optimal customer service.
